Update from Mom 3/31 @ 10:30 a.m.
Good Morning TEAM TOMMY,
I got back here to Herman at 6 a.m. this morning to relieve Craig so he could get home to work with the plumbers and get some more work completed on Tommy’s room. Craig said he had a great night, and they both rested well. He was wide awake when I got in the room so I brushed his teeth and got him ready for the day, and now he is sound asleep. Silly boy, I guess he didn’t get enough sleep, so I will let him rest for a little longer. He looks so PEACEful.
The doctors are making their rounds this morning and they informed me there are still a few test they would like to run before releasing him. We thought we only had one left and part of that one (Echo-Gram) was run yesterday, and they now would like to have a few more things done to be 100% sure he is not in any danger of any more strokes. They are also working on getting his blood pressure down (as we have been for quite some time), they have tweaked a few of his medications and it is starting to come down. At this point I don’t have a clear answer as to when he will be released and they said all the teams will get together and let us know something later today. I did get information from TIRR that Tommy has been approved for another 14 days at TIRR. YEAAAAA!!!!! So when we leave here we will be going back yet one more time for some more therapy.
Late yesterday afternoon Craig & Tommy had a surprise visit from Tommy’s primary therapists, Staci, Marcie & Holly. It brought tears to my eyes that they love my baby enough to come by here on their own time and work with Tommy. They spent a little over an hour working with him and his wheelchair. These girls are truly AMAZING, SPECIAL people, and we are so blessed to have them in our lives. If I have ever met someone who is cut out to do their job it is these girls, they are gifted and dedicated. Holly is completing her internship at TIRR and will be returning home to Vermont next Friday and we are really going to miss her, but she will be in our lives forever. THANK YOU HOLLY for everything you have done for Tommy and training us to care for him~~you will be very successful !!!!
I wanted to give you a quick update while I had time this morning and I will update later as I find out more information.
Have a wonderful day and keep the faith and keep praying !!!!
We love you all,
Jill & family
