Update from Stepmom 3/18 @ 8pm
Good Evening TEAM TOMMY
What a great day today. Tommy didn’t sleep well last night, so we both slept in a little this morning. He then got a nice hot bed bath and dressed for the day. Teeth brushed and trach care….whew. Amy from Dr. Baumgartner’s office came by to check on Tommy. She said that he looked really great and seemed relaxed. Next, came the liason from TIRR. She had some paperwork to fill out and send to insurance to get the “ball rolling”.
After lunch, it was time to get Tommy up to the chair where sat up for about an hour and a half. He seemed to really enjoy it. It was about 2:30 by then and it was time to work all his joints. We got some great Range of Motion in all 4 extremities. He took a short nap for about 30 minutes after his workout.
I got word late this afternoon that we will be going back over to TIRR at sometime tomorrow morning—barring no incidents overnight.
Now, Tommy is settled in nicely and just started dinner. One of our old PICU nurses, Kim, came by to see Tommy and check to see how we were doing. It was nice to see how much improvement she saw in Tommy since having him in PICU.
Billy will be here later when he finishes his shift at Tejas Bingo. We will all need our rest for the busy day tomorrow.
