We are all getting tons of calls and text messages and we are thankful for them but it would be easier on us because we may not have a chance to answer your phone, or text message and we may forget. We just met with the doctors who gave a decent report on Tommy’s progress. He IS breathing on his own. The respiratory folks turned the ventilator down last night to 10 breaths per minute and Tommy immediately picked up and started breathing on his own at 13 to 15 breaths per minute. In the early morning hours they came back and changed the ventilator to CPAP which means the machine would...
Update 10pm 12/30/08
Tommy is starting to breathe on his own now so they turned down the machine a bit, and last time i was in there i could here his deep breathing he does, and his eyes where moving when i was talking to him! woot woot!

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, calls, and most of all prayers. Tommy is far from being out of danger, but is a fighter, and with everyone’s support and God’s help he will be back on top in no time. As I get more information from the doctors I will pass it on to all of you. Please keep Tommy in your prayers.

Update
Neuro surgeon said, still unclear, Tommy is not out of the woods as in getting worse he has gotten worse the past 24hours and the next 48 hours still may get a little worse.
The MRI two small black spots in the center of his brain idk what that means but they are very small.
No swelling is the big GOOD NEWS!
72 hour window is the danger zone which means he will get worse but that is typical.

Around 12-1ish on 12-29-08 Tommy was in a terrible four-wheeler accident. The four-wheeler flipped/rolled on top of his head and it landed on the side with the back tire and rack .His left arm is broken, and least of our worries. Tommy was without air for a short amount of time. He has a brain injury from lack of oxygen.
